NEIGHBOURHOOD police in Hartlepool are warning motorbike riders to stay away from a retirement complex after complaints.

The Hartlepool Integrated Neighbourhood Team says it has received several complaints of bikers riding on the grassed area and foot paths adjacent to Easington Road and Hartfields retirement complex.

Police say they create a noise nuisance as well as a danger to pedestrians on pathways.

An operation involving Cleveland’s Off Road Motorbike Unit, is set to take place.

And police warn motorcyclists caught in the area run the risk of having their vehicle seized and destroyed.

The team adds they could also be committing driving offences which would be endorsed on their licence.

Anyone with information regarding the owners or riders of the bikes can contact the neighbourhood team on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
