AN animal lover has spoken out after distinctive fish were stolen from his garden pond.

Taxi driver Terence Robson, 58, woke up to find around a dozen fish including koi carp and goldfish had been taken.

Terence said: “It’s just a disappointment – you grow fish to a certain size and then they disappear.”

Terence, who is married to Eileen, and lives in Sunny Blunts, Peterlee, said he had been accumulating the fish over the years.

Peterlee Police are investigating the incident, which is said to have happened between February 20 and February 23.

Anyone with information about the theft is urged to call Peterlee Police on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
