Reveller needed hospital treatment after being attacked by Hartlepool gang – four men arrested

POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses after a reveller was attacked in the street by a gang of men.

The 29-year-old victim was in Whitby Street, off Church Street, Hartlepool, when he was set upon.

He suffered cuts, bruises and swelling to his head and was first taken to the One Life Centre, in Park Road, Hartlepool, but was then transported to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton.

Police have arrested four men – aged 19, 22, 23 and 25 – on suspicion of allegedly causing actual bodily harm and have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Officers would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, which happened at 4.20am on Saturday, February 1, to contact PC Holly Angus on 101.
