Police have seized a “sizeable” amount of cannabis plants after raiding a property in Hartlepool.

The town’s Integrated Neighbourhood Team carried out the search on Wednesday after information was passed on to officers from a partner agency.

The raid followed on from an application to Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court, where the team was given a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The plants will now be destroyed and Cleveland police has said those responsible could face lengthy jail terms for the production of cannabis, which is a Class B Drug.
