Suspected loan shark to appear at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court

A MAN arrested and charged in connection with a loan shark investigation is set to appear in court.

A 52-year-old man from Hartlepool has been charged with alleged illegal money lending, money laundering, blackmail, attempted grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.

The string of charges follow an investigation by the England Illegal Money Lending Team.

The suspect was arrested in January this year after the team, working in partnership with Hartlepool Borough Council and Cleveland Police, executed a warrant at the man’s town home.

The man, who has not yet been named, is due to make his first appearance before justices at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court at 10am on Wednesday, July 2.
