A WOMAN who was found guilty of attacking two victims has escaped jail.
Lauren Louise Watson pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault by beating against two women in Hartlepool.
The 19-year-old was convicted of the two offences in June and appeared at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court yesterday for sentencing.
Chairman of the bench Peter West told the defendant that the crime crossed the custody threshold as the attack involved “kicking”.
But he said he was willing to suspend the jail term.
Watson, of Durham Street, on the Headland, in Hartlepool, was sentenced to a 12-week term of imprisonment suspended for 12 months.
She was also given a supervision order for a year and told that she must attend appointments in Middlesbrough.
The bench also ordered her to pay £500 compensation between the victims and £250 court costs.
