Tens of thousands of pounds worth of Shark cleaners and parts were stolen from a lorry overnight on the A19 near Hartlepool.

At some time between 5pm on Monday, January 13 and Tuesday, January 14, thieves stole 468 machines from a parked lorry at Ron Perry’s services on the A19 northbound.

The driver of the lorry found that the curtain to the trailer had been cut with empty pallets left inside.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “The value of the items runs into tens of thousands of pounds, and police are appealing to anyone who may have been offered for sale any of the cleaners to contact them.”

The Shark duoclean vacuums have a model number of NV700UKT and a batch number of 2419.
