A 17-YEAR-OLD youth will appear before a judge charged with shooting a man in the street with a ball bearing gun.
The male youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before magistrates charged with possessing an air weapon with intent to endanger lives, wounding with intent, possessing an air weapon when prohibited for five years, criminal damage and affray.
It comes after a man was shot in the chest three times in the Bruce Crescent area of Hartlepool on Wednesday.
The victim’s injuries were not life threatening.
Magistrates declined jurisdiction on the case and ordered it to be heard at crown court.
The case was adjourned until Thursday, August 25, and the youth was remanded in custody.
