Victim headbutted outside Hartlepool pub on Christmas Day

A MAN was headbutted during an assault by two yobs on Christmas Day.

Police say one of the attackers was wearing a Christmas jumper and are appealing for witnesses.

The 34-year-old victim was outside The Ship Inn pub on Middlegate, the Headland, in Hartlepool at around 11pm on Thursday, December 25, when he was approached by two men.

One of the men headbutted the victim in the face causing a cut to his left eye.

The second male then tried to punch the victim, but he was able to protect his face with his hand.

The victim later went to hospital for treatment.

The first suspect is described as a white man, aged 25-30 years, of stocky build and wearing a black t-shirt and jeans.

The second male was also white, aged between 20 and 25 years and of thin build. He was wearing a Christmas jumper and jeans.
