Victim in hospital with cuts to his stomach after serious attack in early hours

An injured man is in a stable condition in hospital after being assaulted in the early hours of Friday, December 20.

The incident happened in the Quenby Road, Knole Road and Hatfield Road areas of Billingham at around 12:45am on Friday.

It was reported to Cleveland Police that a vehicle pulled up in this area of Billingham and a man got out of the car and assaulted another man on the street and left prior to the force’s arrival.

It is believed other men were inside the vehicle when the attack took place.

The victim, who is 42, suffered lacerations to his stomach and he currently remains in James Cook University Hospital in stable condition.
