Victim of vicious attack outside Hartlepool pizza shop could need facial surgery

A MAN who was punched in the face then kicked in the head outside a pizza shop could need surgery.

Police say the man suffered severe cuts to his face during the attack outside Sorento Pizzaria, in Station Approach, Hartlepool.

Officers are now appealing for help to find the person responsible for the assault that happened in the early hours of Saturday, October 19.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “The victim was stood outside of the pizza shop between 4am and 4.15am when he was assaulted, causing him to fall to the floor.

“He was then kicked to the face and has been left with severe lacerations to his mouth, which may require surgery.”
