A CONVICTED sex offender has been recalled to prison after he went missing.

Police in Cleveland and Durham issued appeals to trace Keith Waites, 20, on Wednesday night after he was wanted for breaching the conditions of his release from prison.

He was found in Peterlee at 1.30am today and has been sent back to jail.

Waites, from the Durham area, had last been seen in Middlesbrough on Tuesday.

He was convicted last year for two offences of inciting a child under 13 to commit a sex offence.

He was released from prison in March this year.

Acting Inspector Avril Kelly of Durham Police said: “I can confirm Waites was arrested in Peterlee at approximately 1.30am this morning by local officers.”
