RESIDENTS in parts of Hartlepool are being warned by police to keep their cars and vehicles secure.
The warning comes from the Hartlepool Integrated Neighbourhood Team after people were seen acting suspiciously near parked vehicles in the Hart ward and Bishop Cuthbert areas of town in the early hours of the morning.
Police say people should be particularly vigilant about taking expensive equipment such as Sat Navs, mobile phones and tablet devices, from their cars before safely locking them.
The neighbourhood team said: “Persons were seen to be acting suspiciously near to parked cars in the early hours of Saturday morning, in the area.”
Anyone who sees anything suspicious are asked to contact police on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
