Woman in court accused of starting fire in her own Hartlepool home


A WOMAN has appeared in court accused of allegedly starting a fire in her own home.

Jane Miller has been charged with a breach of a civil injunction.

The 60-year-old is said to have started a fire in her house which she was prohibited from doing by the injunction, which was granted by Hartlepool County Court on March 5, this year for an alleged similar crime.

Miller, of Forfar Road, appeared at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court in custody by a video-link system.

He solicitor Neil Taylor requested that justices adjourn the case for a week for legal issues.

Chairman of the bench Doreen Goode adjourned the case until Friday, September 19.
