Danielle Marshall takes on Serbian champion in Hartlepool Catholic Boxing Club show

Young boxer Danielle Marshall is taking on one of the biggest chellenges of her career in front of her hometown fans this weekend.

Danielle, who turned 16 last Friday, tops the bill in the Hartlepool Catholic Boxing Club show at The Mayfair Centre Sports Domes, Seaton Carew this Friday evening.

Danielle will be taking on Serbian National Junior Champion Bojana Dragicevic who is flying in especially for the bout.

Catholic club head coach and international referee/judge, Paul Allen, believes this will be a big test for Danielle.

He said: “The club decided to make this contest and bring over the Serbian National Champion to help in preparations for what is a big year for Danielle.

“This will be the standard of the girls she will hopefully meet in the European Championships for England if successfully selected.

“We couldn’t have done this without the help and support from local business people, who Danielle and the Hartlepool Catholic Boxing club would like to say a big thank you.”

This will be Danielle’s 25th contest, having won 20 with two losses against senior girls who have already won bronze and Gold in Europe at the higher level.

Along the way Danielle has won nine Gold and four Silver medals in National Titles, representing England in competitions and Tri-Nations Box cups.

Danielle won another Junior National Title last month, and is now in training with England ahead of the Tri-Nation’s in May in Scotland.

Then hopefully selection for the Junior European Championships in Russia later this year.

Other club boxers on the show are National Champion Dylan Skedd, Den Morgan who himself is in the Schools Championships later in the month.

Also on the bill are Mary Kibbler, Macey Horsely, Harry Huntley, Travis Miller, Lewis Fannan, Rhys Hopkins, Andrew Metcalfe ,Reece Bailey, Levi Anderson, Luke Theasby, Ryan Appleby and Josh Brown.

Paul added: “This promises to be another great show. We have had complete sell outs on the two previous shows in November and February.
