Delays expected across Teesside due to bus network improvement scheme

MAJOR roadworks could be set to disrupt drivers.

Stockton Council has announced it will be carrying out works in the following areas.

At the Causeway, in Billingham, Stockton Council and Highways Construction Services are undertaking works as part of £60m Tees Valley Bus Network Improvement Scheme.

The works, which will include the creation of bus and disabled laybys on the north side, amendments to the existing bus and taxi laybys on the south side, as well as improvements to the pedestrian crossing facilities.

As a result, temporary lane restrictions will be in operation on The Causeway from today for approximately 12 weeks.

At Wolviston Road/Whitehouse Road, Billingham, as a result of Northern Gas Networks carrying out essential gas works, lane closures will be in operation on Wolviston Road, at the junction with Whitehouse Road, until Friday, March 13.

At Cheviot Crescent, Billingham, as a result of SBC/Lafarge Tarmac carrying out carriageway patching/resurfacing works, a temporary road closure will be in operation from Thursday to Friday, between 09.30am and 3.30pm.

At the A19 Tees Viaduct, as a result of routine maintenance works on the A19 Tees Viaduct, temporary road closures of the A66 eastbound to A19 northbound and A66 westbound to A19 northbound slip roads will be in operation today and tomorrow.

The works will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am.
