HISTORY enthusiasts are being invited to delve into the archives as part of a politics project.
The North East Labour History Society and Worker’s Education Association are looking for people from Hartlepool to take part in its Popular Politics Project.
The scheme will see volunteers working in libraries and archives across Teesside to examine material covering the lives and public activities of people past and present.
Findings will be made available online.
Topics include worlds of work in chemical works, iron and steel, shop workers, miners, domestic service, the 1960s women’s movement, popular culture, working class women and migration into the region.
The project also includes recording the lives of living activists in political parties, trade unions, the co-operative movement campaigns and community associations.
