If it is one thing children love to do it is making a den.
Youngsters enjoyed the summer tradition when they visited Summerhill Country Park in Hartlepool.
They had a great time leaning how to make their own shelter in the woods and hunkering down under the tarpaulin.
It was just one of a host of events and activities the council-run centre is running to keep children entertained throughout the summer holidays.
Other activities have included archery and the chance for youngsters to see and touch all kinds of unusual animals up close with a visit by Exotic Animal Encounters.
The 100-acre site, in Summerhill Lane, has also been holding Xplorer orienteering and taken part in National Play Day.
