TALL ship is getting ready to bid for more glory in a prestigious race.
The 45ft Black Diamond, based at Hartlepool’s marina, won first place in the Class C Tall Ships race from Waterford, in southern Ireland, to Greenock, in Scotland, last week.
The 10-strong crew beat off 40 rivals to clinch success.
The fleet of ships will sail tomorrow to Lerwick, in the Shetland Isles, where they will spend four days from Thursday, July 21, to Sunday, July 24.
They will then race from Lerwick to Stavanger, in Norway in the second race.
Race three takes the competitors from Stavanger to Halmstad in Sweden.
