Planet Circus, which is touring the country with its action-packed show, is looking for a Hartlepool resident to fill in for an act as it continues on the North East leg of its shows.

Ringmaster Paul Martinez, is looking for a talented resident to perform with the circus during its Hartlepool stint and then travel with them as it goes on to do shows in Redcar and other locations in the region for a three-week period.

Paul, who has been in the circus industry for 13 years, said: “We are looking to hold an audition morning on June 30 at 11am in Hartlepool Marina where we will be based from June 29 to July 3.

“We have performers with children who have to go home every so often for school and things, so we will need to replace an aerial act during that time.
“We are not looking for a typical circus act as such, but we are looking for an individual who can perform an act, whether it is singing or dancing, or someone with a unique talent who will impress us during their audition - it will be a like ‘Planet Circus’ Got Talent!’”

The circus which has already wowed crowds in South Shields and Sunderland, has around 20 performers ranging from Australian Cowboys to motorbike knife throwing and traditional clowns.

Those who want to audition must be aged 18 or over and be able to travel with the circus for around three weeks.

The successful act will be paid and are expected to perform twice a day, five days a week, meaning they will be taking part in around 15 performances in total.
