A MAN who failed to comply with the direction of a police officer has been landed with a £100 court bill.
Nicholas James Howe was out with friends drinking in Hartlepool when he got into a row with another man outside Shades nightclub, in Church Street, about 11.45pm on May 6.
Police officers issued the 21-year old with a direction to leave order, banning him from the area for 48 hours.
Prosecuting, Joanne Hesse told Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court that a short time later officers spotted him outside a pizza shop on the same road.
“The officers approached the defendant and reminded him to leave the area immediately,” she said. “But 25 minutes later the defendant was seen entering another pizza shop.”
Howe, of Oakley Gardens, Dyke House, Hartlepool, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the direction of a police officer on May 6.
He represented himself and did not wish to say anything to the court.
District Judge Martin Walker fined him £35, ordered him to pay £50 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
