Driver cut free from car after Hartlepool crash

A DRIVER was taken to hospital after suffering a seizure following a car crash.

Emergency services were called to Brierton lane, Hartlepool, at around 9.45am on Sunday after the collision between two cars.

Firefighters had to cut the driver’s door off one of the cars to help the man believed to be in his 40s.

He was put on a stretcher and taken to the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton by ambulance.

No-one else was hurt in the collision near the junction of Ardrossan Road.

Police blocked of the road for around 30 minutes while firefighters from Stranton Station worked.
