Driver hurt in rush-hour crash

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after her car was involved in a collision with a bus during rush-hour traffic.

The 29-year-old woman’s Renault Clio was in a collision with the 57A Hartlepool-Durham bus on the A179, near Hart Village, at 5.45pm on Wednesday.

Traffic travelling in and out of Hartlepool was backed up as police directed cars around the scene of the incident.

A Cleveland Police spokesman said there were no injuries to people on the bus, but an ambulance was sent for the driver of the car.

The woman was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees complaining of back pain.

Paramedics also took another patient to hospital, although bosses had no further details.
