Hartlepool motorists battled treacherous weather conditions as heavy rain caused flooding on busy routes in the town overnight.
Drivers on the A179, going towards Hart Village, were greeted by deep pools of water running down a roundabout.
The flooding led to delays, as drivers slowed down in order to pass through safely.
Drivers were stopped in their tracks by heavy flooding on the bend of the road at King Oswy Drive, outside the King Oswy.
The standing water made the road impassable for a time during the early hours of the morning.
Weather expects say drivers should be braced for more wet weather today - with heavy rainfall expected on Monday across the north east.
More wet weather is expected on Wednesday and Thursday - though not to the extent of the deluge that battered the region last night.
