Hartlepool’s Jacksons Landing site is set to come back to life when the circus comes to town.
The Netherlands National Circus is set to offer spectacular family entertainment, including comedy clowns and acrobats flying through the air.
The big top will set up on Jacksons Landing from Tuesday, March 14 to Sunday, March 19.
The Netherlands Circus features an international cast of more than 30 performers, including star clown Angelo.
The Jackson family will combine traditional circus acrobatics with a modern twist as they perform an incredible display of daring acrobats on bicycles and unicycles.
And making their UK debut will be aerial performers Duo Extreme, who have just been awarded the first prize in a festival of circus artistes in Germany.
A spokesman for the circus said: “We are really excited to be able to bring our new show to Hartlepool for the first time. We hope it will be well received as we pride ourselves on producing high quality, affordable family entertainment.
“There will be something for everyone as we can guarantee laughs, thrills, suspense and lots of action. It is important to remember that in a world full of digital and virtual entertainment with computer games and the internet, nothing can ever beat bringing the whole family together to witness the magic of a live performance.
“Several of our acts touring with us in 2017 will be making their UK debut, so we will have many new and exciting feats that have never been seen in this country.”
Show times are 4.45pm and 7.30pm, Tuesday to Friday; 2pm, 4.45pm and 7.30pm, Saturday; noon and 3pm on the Sunday.
The Jacksons Landing former factory outlet was cleared by Hartlepool Borough Council earlier this year after years of trying to market the site.
Current plans are for it to feature a new interactive maritime museum.
