Easter fun for Hartlepool schoolchildren

An action-packed fortnight of fun and activities is being arranged for children in Hartlepool during the Easter school holiday break.

The council-run Oscar club, based at West Hartlepool Rugby Club in Catcote Road, has arranged a number of activities for children aged 3 to 16 from Monday, March 29, to Friday, April 8.

The club, which has been running for more thaner 20 years, has been hailed as “outstanding” by Ofsted inspectors.

During the Easter break, parents are able drop off their children from 8am with breakfast provided for them on arrival. They then enjoy an action-packed day of fun before being collected by parents by 5.45pm.

A wide range of activities have been lined up for youngsters as Sandra Robinson, the council’s out-of-school coordinator, explains: “The team have put together a varied programme which include fun with food, jewellery

making, sports and games, a trip to the cinema, movie and toy day plus visits to Summerhill, Ward Jackson Park and Hall Hill Farm.

“We will also be having a ‘Onesie Day’ and to celebrate Easter there will be and Easter egg hunt and children will get to decorate their own eggs with prizes for the winners.

“Our experienced team are great with the children and everyone is looking forward to the Easter programme.

“The emphasis is always on fun at Oscars and parents can relax knowing that their children are enjoying themselves and are in safe hands.”
