Pools legend Tommy Miller is looking to inspire the next generation after becoming head football coach at Hartlepool Sixth Form College.
Miller, who made 152 career appearances for Pools over two spells, is the new lead academy coach, taking over from another former Pools midfielder Willie Boland.
College bosses say he will use all of his experience to “nurture the talented young players in the colleges academy programme”.
Ben Robinson, the college’s director of sport, said: “Tommy has come into to the role after working with Willie Boland at Middlesbrough Football Club Academy and will use all his experience, including European Football in the UEFA Cup, to help the young players progress.
“To have someone of Tommy’s standing leading our programme is a great opportunity for the players and will add to the outstanding coaching profile we have in the college’s Elite Sports Academies and build on the success of finishing third in the NE Regional League and being crowned NE regional Champions for 2014-15.”
