Parents of children due to start primary school in Hartlepool in September are being reminded that they have only until Friday to apply for places.
That’s the deadline for the return of both on-line and paper applications.
Applications can be submitted on-line at www.hartlepool.gov.uk/schooladmissions or by filling in a paper application form available from any primary school in the town or Hartlepool Council’s School Admissions Team.
The current applications round applies to children born between September 1 2011 and August 31 2012.
Janet Dennis, Hartlepool Council’s School Admissions Officer (Primary), said: “All parents must apply for places for their children in a primary school in Hartlepool.
“They do receive a letter through their child’s nursery school but if a child does not attend a private or mainstream nursery they need to be registered with the School Admissions Team.
“It is important to stress, however, that attendance at a school nursery does not guarantee a place in that school as this does not form part of the admission criteria of any Hartlepool primary school.”
April 16 is national offer day when parents who applied on on-line will be able to view their children’s allocations on the council website. Allocation letters will be posted second class to parents/guardians who applied using a paper application form. Appeals will be heard in June/July.
