A FLEDGLING nursery is delighted to have celebrated its first birthday.
The Little Treasures Nursery, based in the Belle Vue Community Sports and Youth Centre, has celebrated 12 months since it opened on April 23 last year.
The nursery is used by children from the Foggy Furze, Stranton, and Belle Vue areas of Hartlepool, catering for tiny babies as young as three months old, up to kiddies aged up to five years.
To celebrate the very special occasion, the staff and youngsters decided to come up with a fancy dress theme.
And pirates was the dress code of the event, with all the little tykes turning up for their nursery’s party in a selection of fun clothes and accessories.
Nursery manager Claire Wainwright said all the youngsters and staff had a great time, and they are looking forward to another successful year.
Claire told the Hartlepool Mail: “To celebrate the event, we held a pirate-themed party. We had a treasure hunt and a bouncy castle, as well as other party games.
“It was a great day and all our children dressed up to share in the fun.
“We can’t believe we have been open a year, it has gone so fast!”
She added: “The nursery opened April last year to provide much-needed childcare in the town centre area of the town, including Stranton, Belle Vue and Foggy Furze areas.”
The nursery is open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and is open all year round except for Christmas and Bank Holidays, offering affordable local childcare.
Funded places for two, three and four-year-olds are also available.
Claire said: “We offer so much more than other nurseries.
“We have a large sports hall, bouncy castle, dance studio, and our newly opened sensory room. Being in a community setting we have so much more to offer than just a nursery.”
