A COUNCIL-RUN after-school and holiday club is letting town parents know that its still has places available for their children.
Youngsters aged three to 16-years-old at Oscars had a great time at its Playcentre facility based at West Rugby Club, in Catcote Road - opposite English Martyrs School, to help ease the pressure on working parents.
Children were treated to a Christmas buffet, disco and a visit from Frozen characters and Santa Claus himself.
Sandra Robinson, the council’s Out of School coordinator, said: “We have a great group of children who attend the Oscar Playcentre and they fully deserved their pre-Christmas treat.
“Staff prepared a Christmas buffet and they all wore party hats to get in the Christmas spirit.
“This was followed by a disco and but the biggest surprise for our children was when Santa Claus and characters from Frozen made a guest appearance.”
Oscar’s after-school service involves staff picking up children from school and transporting them to the Catcote Road centre.
Once there they take part in a wide range of educational and fun activities.
Parents then have until 6pm to collect their children.
The scheme also operates during most school holidays when parents are able drop off their children from 8am with breakfast provided for them on arrival.
They then embark on an action-packed day of fun and thrills, trips, activities and games, prior to being collected by parents by 5.45pm.
Oscar’s has also been hailed as “outstanding” by Ofsted inspectors.
Anyone wishing to book a place for their child or if they are requiring further information should email firstname.lastname@example.org.

The play centre and its facilities are also available for mums, dads, or carers to view to see if it is suitable for their children.
