SCHOOL may nearly be out for the summer but there is still plenty of time to help Hartlepool schools to claim some top equipment.

Today the Mail is giving readers another 50 bonus points to help your chosen school or nursery boost their total in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre’s Shop for Schools scheme.

St Aidan’s Primary School is still leading the way at the top of the Shop for Schools league table.

They are closely followed by Throston, Kingsley, Barnard Grove and Eldon Grove primary schools.

But with the scheme open until the end of August all that could change.

Readers can give their favourite school a quick shot in the arm by cutting out our 50 point bonus token in the Shop for Schools collection box in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre.

The scheme is simple – every £1 shoppers spend in the shopping centre is worth one point to your chosen school.

Suzanne Chaney, Middleton Grange’s marketing manager, said: “Shop For Schools is always well supported by customers.

“Last year, over 450,000 points were collected and divided between 29 schools and there is some great stuff up for grabs.”

Schools will get to choose from a wide range of goodies ranging from new classroom equipment to sports kits to hi-tech gadgets such as digital cameras.

To take part just take your receipts to Middleton Grange’s Customer Services Desk in Centre Square.

You will be given points vouchers to post in the post-box at the side of the desk for your chosen participating school.

Twenty-four Hartlepool primary schools and two nurseries have signed up this year.

Every pound spent in the shopping centre on a Sunday is worth double points and triple on bank holidays.
