A COLLEGE student has won a gold medal at the British College Sport’s National Championships.
East Durham College student Chloe Price ran in the 1500m at the BCS national finals at the Gateshead International Stadium.
And despite treacherous conditions the 18-year-old sport studies student, who runs for Durham Harriers, still pulled out a fantastic performance – crossing the line 50 metres ahead of the rest of the field.
And Chloe, from Peterlee, was proud to pick up the gold medal, despite not running anywhere near her personal best time.
Chloe said: “It’s always a great feeling to win a race, especially in a national competition against some great competitors.
“My time wasn’t too great in the race and nowhere near my PB, but that really is down to the conditions – the weather made it a really tough race.”
Chloe is now back studying as she finishes her course, before starting her sports science degree at Durham University in September.
