Elderly man left in need of hospital treatment after being knocked off his bike

A pensioner was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries after he was knocked off his pushbike by a vehicle.

The Hartlepool Neighbourhood Police Team is appealing for witnesses to an incident which occurred at approximately 1.40pm yesterday in Thornhill Gardens near to the junction of Chester Road.

An elderly gentleman was knocked from his pushbike by a vehicle and sustained injuries, which required treatment at hospital.

Police say the vehicle involved left the scene without stopping.

A spokesman for the team said: "There were various other vehicles in the vicinity at the time.

"If you saw anything or have dashcam footage from the area please contact police on 101 and quote event number SE18116425."
