AN ELDERLY pedestrian was taken to hospital with leg injuries after colliding with a car.
The woman was knocked over by a silver Fiat Punto in York Road, Hartlepool, at around 5.20pm on Friday.
A section of the road was closed for around half an hour while police and paramedics attended the scene.
She was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, where she was treated for injuries to her right leg and was expected to be kept in overnight.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: “We were called to York Road after receiving reports of a pedestrian having been ran over.
“She was taken to hospital by ambulance.”
