Event for quake appeal

PEOPLE are being reminded about a cultural event that will raise money for victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.

Peterlee woman Yoshiko Moss, who was born in Sendai, the disaster-struck city which bore the brunt of the disaster in March, is hosting a traditional Chinese tea ceremony at the Shotton Hall Banqueting Suites, in Peterlee.

The event takes place from 1.30pm until 3.30pm on Thursday, May 12, and as well as the tea ceremony, there will be Japanese dances.
