DEDICATED Mark Bell will have the support of an expert physical trainer as he bids to shed 10 stone for charity.

The 38-year-old featured in the Mail earlier this week when he set himself the target of losing the weight to support Clic Sargent, the fantastic charity which supported his daughter, Becky, during her brave seven-month battle with brain cancer, which she tragically lost in January last year.

Mark was inundated with calls from personal trainers, happy to offer their support to the taxi driver in his weight loss challenge.

And now Mark is delighted to have teamed up with Jason Bland.

The 25-year-old who runs Look Great Feel Great Fitness in the town has already met up with Mark and offered him some key nutritional advice.

And today the hard work was set to really start as Mark was taking part in his first training session.

Jason, who lives in the Rift House area of Hartlepool, said: “I read the story about Mark in the Mail and the fact he wanted to lose the weight for such a brilliant cause and immediately I got in touch.

“I have worked with a lot of people in the past who wanted to lose weight, some were as heavy as 27 stone to start with.”

Mark weighs in at 25 and a half stone and his initial target is to lose three stone by Christmas. But he doesn’t have to worry too much, Jason insists he will be introducing him into the training programme gently.

Jason added: “We won’t be chucking Mark in at the deep end, we will introduce him to a training programme and working on his nutrition at the same time.

“He will be training two or three times a week and he will ache like hell to start with but he will see and feel a big difference.”

Mark, his wife Julie, 42, and the rest of the family have raised between £15,000 and £20,000 for Clic Sargent and ward 14 at Newcastle’s RVI Hospital since Becky’s tragic death.

Mark added: “I’m really grateful to Jason for getting in touch and wanting to support me, it’s going to make it a lot easier to have an expert helping me along and telling me what I should and shouldn’t be doing. He’s already gave me some really good advice, hopefully it won’t be too long before it starts to make a difference.”
