TRAINS were stopped for more than an hour after a man fell from a bridge onto the track below.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the stretch of line behind the Anchor Retail Park, in Marina Way, Hartlepool, after the man fell from the bridge in Middleton Road.
An investigation is under way to find out how the man, who is believed to be in his early 20s, came to be on the tracks.

A spokesman for Stranton Fire Station said: “Crews used cutting equipment to get through the fence to access the tracks and the casualty was taken to a waiting ambulance.”
Trains were stopped for an hour while the line was cleared.
A spokeswoman for British Transport Police confirmed that the incident had been reported to them and an investigation is under way.
