A family which now spans five generations had a perfect little Christmas present after a new arrival.
The birth of Olivia Louise Smith meant Mary Smith, 94, became a great-great-grandmother for the first time.

Mrs Smith, originally from Horden but later of Easington and now Peterlee, also has three children, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Olivia Louise is the daughter of great-grandson Wayne Smith Jnr, 32, whose dad is Wayne Smith, 51.
His father Norman, 72, is Mary’s son, meaning that the family now spans five generations.
Joanne Smith, who is married to Wayne Snr, said: “Wayne Jnr is 32 now, so we were starting to wonder whether he would have a family.
“Olivia Louise has come along now, and we are all over the moon. There are not many girls in the family.
“Mary came to the house to get some photos done, and she couldn’t get over the baby, really.
“She was watching her all the time, and clearly loves her to bits.”
Mary’s husband George died in Benidorm 18 years ago.
She worked as a nurse in Hartlepool during her career, and lived in Horden before moving to Easington, where most of the family remain.
Olivia Louise was born on November 25.
Mary, meanwhile, lives at Bannatyne Lodge Care Home, in Peterlee, and will turn 95 next month.
And the family are sure to have a five-star Christmas.
