A RANGE of free family activities are being held as part of a learning festival.
Hartlepool Adult Education, under the banner of Family Learning Hartlepool, has organised the activities that start tomorrow and run until November 11, taking in the half-term school holidays.
All of the activities are free and take place from 10am-noon.
The fun begins on Saturday with puppet-making at Summerhill and this will be followed by Halloween costume-making on Saturday, October 20, at Owton Rossmere Resource Centre.
There will be pumpkin carving session on Saturday, October 27, at Summerhill, model making on Tuesday, October 30, at Summerhill, and a session called frame it! on Wednesday, October 31, also at Summerhill
There will also be decorating cupcakes for bonfire night on Friday, November 2, and creating pirate hats on Saturday, November 3, both again at Summerhill.
Maggie Heaps, learning and skills manager with Hartlepool Adult Education, said: “We have run family learning initiatives before but never on this scale.
“These activities are an opportunity for families to spend some quality time together and discover in a fun way the joys of learning.
“We also hope that by taking part in these activities, families might then be inspired to get involved in more structured learning through the wide range of courses and classes that we offer.”
