FAMILY fun is on the cards at a hospice fundraiser this weekend.
The De Bruce Ward Family Fun Day will be held at Hartlepool ‘Old Boys’ Rugby Club, in Easington Road, on Sunday, September 2, between 11am and 4pm.
All of the proceeds from the event will go towards the Hartlepool & District Hospice, which is based in Wells Avenue.
The event has been organised by the hospice and Labour councillors for the De Bruce Ward, councillor Rob Cook, Sylvia Tempest and Sheila Griffin.
Fun for all the family has been promised including various stalls and activities, arts and crafts, a free bouncy castle, face painting, a puppet show and free pony rides, between 11am and 2pm.
There will also be medals and prizes on offer during a mini-sports event between 2pm and 4pm, meanwhile, there will also be a car boot sale.
Entry costs £5 and people must be set up by 10.30am.
West View Project are providing the climbing wall while staff from Cleveland Police will be on hand to provide some bike security.
There will also be a fancy dress competition, which will be judged at noon.
Coun Cook said: “I would encourage people to come along and support the event, with all the proceeds going to a very good cause.”
Coun Tempest said: “It promises to be a very enjoyable day.
“There will be lots happening including free pony rides and bouncy castle.
“There will also be a climbing wall, puppet show and a variety of stalls and activities.
“Everyone is welcome so please come down to what will be a fun packed family event.”
Janice Forbes, community fundraiser said: “This will be a great family day out and a lovely way to finish the summer holidays on a high with lots of fun for all ages. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.”
