HARTLEPOOL United fans had their golden tickets at the weekend when they opted for a Willy Wonka-themed day out at Charlton.
Hundreds of Pools fans made the long trip to London for the final away game of the season at The Valley and dozens managed to turn plenty of heads on the train with their fancy dress outfits.
As well as the Oompa Loompa brigade – made famous by the Charlie And The Chocolate Factory movie –there were a group of Santa Clauses and a couple of Elvis Presleys.
Fans traditionally get dressed up for the final away game of the season and manager Mick Wadsworth praised those who made the trip for the 0-0 draw.
Wadsworth said: “The fans were fantastic, myself and the players really appreciate the efforts they have gone to, not just on Saturday but for the whole season.”
