Fears for a weekend washout after wealth of warm weather

If you haven’t made the most of the warmer weather this week, you could be in for a disappointing weekend.

Today was set to be the hottest day of the month, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 25 degrees around the North East.

Tonight is forecast stay mostly dry with a few thick clouds with light rain in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Saturday as a whole is predicted to be less clement than the rest of the week, starting with cloudy skies, turning to rain which will become heavier later on.

Maximum temperatures of 13 degrees are predicted.

Sunday is forecast to be cooler again, with the chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms in the morning.

The rain will clear and sunny spells will start to appear in the afternoon.
