A CHARITY will benefit from the sale of a new DVD produced by a community-spirited Hartlepool group.

Filmmaker Derrick Rowbotham, who created Facebook group Town of Hartlepool, along with the group’s administration team, has pledged to raise much-needed funds for town charity Hartlepool Carers, based in Lowthian Road.

They are doing so by donating proceeds from sales of the group’s latest DVD release Town of Hartlepool to the charity.

The film has been created from photographs and video shot by local photographers, depicting Hartlepool scenes, and donated by members of the group.

Some of the scenes are based on historical photographs which have been recreated by town photographers who are members of the group, making the film a “must have” for anyone who appreciates the art of photography.

Derrick, a carer himself, will donate £5 from the sale of each DVD to help support the work of Hartlepool Carers who Derrick has personally received support from.

A spokeswoman for Hartlepool Carers said: “The film is packed with some rare and fascinating local images of Hartlepool through the ages, and priced at only £9 it is well worth buying while helping to support a great cause.” To order call Derrick on (01429) 422982.
