A committed supporter of the Best of Hartlepool Awards is on the hunt for a sporting champion in the annual competition.
Hart Biologicals is once again lending its support to the competition which looks to honour outstanding individuals in the community.
The town-based company, which is a former winner of the Hartlepool Business of the Year title, exports life-saving medical equipment around the world.
Now it is on the lookout to honour high achievers in sport as it backs the Sporting Excellence Award.
Jason Pattison, Hart Biologicals production manager, said: “Hart Biologicals are again proud to sponsor the Sporting Excellence Award in the Best of Hartlepool Awards.
“As a company we have a proud history of supporting sport in Hartlepool through sponsorship of various sporting clubs and associations such as Hartlepool Rovers Rugby, West Rugby, Seaton Cricket Club and the town’s snooker and billiards league.
“We also sponsor numerous other community based projects.
“We are a company proud of our Hartlepool roots and look forward to this award ceremony each year.
“We feel it is extremely important to showcase some of the outstanding individuals and groups by giving them the recognition they so rightly deserve in a night dedicated to them.
“We wish all of the finalists the very best of luck in their nominated category, although everyone cannot be a winner on the night, everybody should feel rightly proud of themselves for getting as far as being nominated.”
This year’s awards have also been sponsored by Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees NHS Clinical Commissioning Group; Hartlepool Sixth Form College and Utility Alliance, along with Stagecoach North East and Specsavers.
Now we are calling on you to nominate individuals who deserve a Best of Hartlepool Award and for the first time this year there is a special category for talented youngsters called the Young Performer of the Year.
Those nominated in that category will get to compete in their own big event in front of a live audience on October 30 at Hartlepool Sixth Form College.
The top three from the evening of great entertainment will go on to compete at the grand finale of the overall awards.
After the young performers’ night, the judges will meet to draw up a shortlist for all the categories in early November.
And then comes the grand final, which will be held at Hardwick Hall on Tuesday, November 21.
To nominate someone for an award please send your entries by post to Lynn Wild, Hartlepool Mail, Alexander House, Rainton Bridge Business Park, Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland. DH4 5RA.
