Fire crews kept busy by blazes

FIRES at an abandoned farm building and grassland has kept firefighters busy.

Crews were called to Blackhall Rocks at about 2pm, today, after grass was set on fire.

Four fighters spent an hour tackling the blaze at the nature reserve which left bracken and plants destroyed.

At 3.20pm an old farm building in Shotton Colliery was set on fire.

It is believed the fire was started deliberately. Police are investigating.
