Fire crews ‘use a bit of muscle’ to rescue youngster stuck in railings at Hartlepool park

FIREFIGHTERS went to the rescue of a youngster who got trapped in railings at a play park.

A crew from Stranton Fire Station was called to the play area at Clavering, off Easington Road in Hartlepool, where a boy aged around nine had his leg trapped in railings.

A station spokesman said: “We just used a bit of muscle and pulled the railings apart to free him.”

The spokesman said the boy was unharmed and his mother was there while he was being freed.

The incident happened around 4pm on Thursday and firefighters were in attendance for around five minutes.
