A BOATHOUSE has been left damaged after its chimney caught fire.
Firefighters were called to the vessel, berthed in Hartlepool Marina, after smoke and flames were seen by passers-by.
A crew from Stranton Fire Station arrived at around 2.30pm yesterday and quickly dowsed the flames with a jet.
The fire is said to have started in the chimney of a coke-burning stove and both the inside and outside of the boat suffered heat damage.
No-one was on board at the time.
