Firefighters spend two hours tackling fire in allotment in Horden

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze at an allotment site in the early hours of the morning.

Two engines from Peterlee Fire Station were called to the allotment site in Sunderland Road, in Horden, at 12.45am on Saturday.

Crews battled the fire for two hours before returning to the station at 2.45am.

Exact details of the damage caused is not yet known.
