Firefighters tackle Hartlepool kitchen fire

Crews from three fire stations have extinguished a kitchen fire in the West View area of Hartlepool

Appliances from Stranton, Headland and Billingham were called to a house on Lazenby Road at 7.08pm on Wednesday.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a positive pressure ventilation (PPV) fan to tackle the blaze.

The kitchen was left 75 per cent damaged by fire, while the remainder of the ground floor was left severely smoke damaged.

Crews were stood down at 7.56pm.
