Firm backs Hartlepool's hospice in 12-month deal

Peterlee water treatment specialist Premiertech Aqua (PTA) has selected the hospice as its chosen charity for 2016-17.

The firm’s support got off to a flying start, with staff member Ian Evans raising £800 in sponsorship from this year’s Great North Run, including a £200 donation from the company.

Ian is a regular supporter of the hospice, formerly called Hartlepool and District Hospice, and Premiertech were happy to boost his fundraising, as well as pledging to continue its support throughout the next year.

Managing director Steve Joyce said: “Alice House Hospice plays a vital role in providing a place of rest for people affected by life-limiting illnesses. The hospice provides care, comfort and support which makes a real difference to thousands of families each year. As such, PTA has selected Alice House Hospice as its chosen charity for the next 14 months. Well done to Ian and we look to forward to the future work our teams can do with the charity.”

Alice House corporate fundraiser Greg Hildreth was delighted with the firm’s commitment: “It’s great to have the support of Premiertech Aqua and we are looking forward to working with them over the coming year. On behalf of everyone at the Hospice, patients, families and staff, I would like to say a big thank you to Ian and all at the company for such wonderful support.”

Alice House, in Wells Avenue, is a registered charity and receives 24% per cent NHS funding, so the outstanding £1,780,000 annually must be fundraised.
